THIRD TEAM SKIPPER TO MISS CRUCIAL PROMOTION CLASH   Date: 22 Jul 09

Scarborough 3rds captain Martin North is unavailable for Saturdays crucial promotion clash with Commercial at Graham School start 2-15 pm so Barry Mitchell will take charge.

With Scarborough's game falling foul of the weather last weekend this allowed Commercial ,led by the in form all rounder Sean Pinder ,to move above Boro  by one point following their 7 wicket victory over Snainton 2nds and now occupy the 2nd promotion place.

It will be a difficult game for the thirds who along with North are also without the experienced off spinner Ian Renwick and batsman Mark  Welford. They do include ,however, allrounder Danish Hashmi who plays his first game of the season following his return from University.

Nevertheless, the seasiders have potential matchwinners in hard hitting batsmen Khalid Ahmed ,who took a century off Bridlington 3rds earlier in the season,  the Renwick brothers as well as Jake Finnegan who are all capable of posting quick runs.On the bowling front  teenage leg spinner Jordan Welford could add to his recent flurry of wickets which saw him post 6-25 in his last league match.Barry Mitchell and Darren Mills spearhead the attack with Jake Finnegan and Danish Hashmi  ready to step up to the plate if necessary.

With just six league games to go until the end of the season the victors in this match should  put them in the driving seat  for that all important second promotion spot.Hunmanby 1sts still lead the table by over 30 points and are favourites to lift the division "A" trophy.
